Personal Travel Planning Services
Why us a Personal Travel Planner?
Planning a trip to somewhere new can be confusing, frustrating and very time-consuming. However, personal travel planning services can help to cut through the stress and ultimately ensure better results.
Your travel planner will know the destination well, having direct experience of hotels, restaurants, sightseeing and so on. In addition, crucial practical and safety advice will be provided.
The sheer volume of information available online can be overwhelming, and costly mistakes are easy to make. An experienced travel planner will help you to avoid the pitfalls and will also have cost-saving tips to pass on.
How Does Personal Travel Planning Work?
Firstly, a Personal Travel Planner is not the same as a Travel Agent. I do not make bookings on your behalf, although typically I will offer advice on how and where bookings can be made. I am not sponsored by any companies and, above all, my advice is totally impartial. Having extensive first-hand experience of the destinations I am able to provide information and advice that you won't find in the guide books.
Initially, we will discuss what your priorities are and what will help you to get the most from your trip. Although every case is tailored to the specific client, you will typically receive:
A bespoke travel plan
This will outline the overall structure of your trip. For example, is it a two-week fly-drive road trip on Route 66? Alternatively, you may be looking for a journey across Canada by train or a group tour to India. The plan will include timescales, modes of transport, transfers, places to stay and so on.
A detailed itinerary
Your bespoke itinerary will include suggested excursions, places of interest, public transport, places to eat and so on. In addition, suggested timings are included wherever it is practical to do so. Most importantly your itinerary will be personal to you, based on your interests and preferences.
Local travel tips & advice
To support your plan & itinerary we will provide practical information that you will need to know. For example, pre-travel advice, areas to avoid, local customs, culture, tipping guidelines, emergency procedures, public transport and more.
Your plan will be reviewed and refined through further discussion together.
The cost of personal travel planning will vary depending on your particular requirements, the length of the trip, level of detail required etc. A typical guideline is €150 for the first week and €60 for subsequent weeks.
